Club Chairman Peter Colclough has made the difficult decision to step down from his role within he club.

Mr Colclough informed the Executive Committee on Monday 28 October.

Peter has held the role of Chair since 2020 a period that has seen the club grow significantly on and off the pitch. Under his stewardship the club has grown to 68 teams including the introduction of several Pan Disability teams and continued growth on the commercial side of the club.
Before taking over as Chair, Peter spent two years as Business Manager and several years as a coach. His final act as Chair will be to sign off the re-laying of our 3G pitch, scheduled for May 2025.

Peter said “I am sad to leave. I have enjoyed every minute of my involvement with the club from coach to Chairman, and I’m immensely proud of the progress we have made during my tenure, both on and off the pitch. I am already heavily involved in one business with another opening in the new year and I simply cannot commit the time and energy needed for the role, I therefore think the time is right to step as side and allow someone else to take it on. The club is in a great position to drive on and become even stronger in the future.”.

All at Sandbach United would like to thank Pete for everything he has done for the club over the last 6 years and wish him all the best with his new venture, I am sure we see him around the facility supporting the club in the future.

Peter has agreed to remain in post until a suitable replacement has been found.

The Executive Committee and Trustees will look to appoint a new Chairperson and anyone who would like to express an interest can do so by emailing secretary@sandbachunitedfc.co.uk with how you feel you meet the requirements of the role. The Trustees will then identify the appropriate person or persons to be interviewed.
