Bach were confident going into the cup fixture, following a commendable 6 match win streak, with league wins against Shawbury United and Runcorn Town, as well as a 5-0 cup win versus Barnton.
Captain, Jordan Stafford, started alongside Leo Latter at the back, with top scorers Joe Bevan and Ben Greenop starting up top for the Ramblers.
The hosts started well with several early efforts from Bevan and Tatters. For the opening 15 minutes, the play was end-to-end, with both sides pushing for an early lead.
Ben Greenop took the lead for Bach in the 20th minute. Greenop met the whipped in ball in the air, as his astonishing header directed into the top corner, putting Sandbach ahead.
Moments after, Arthur Hancock was substituted on for Stan Tatters. Hancock played a pivotal role in the midfield, by pressing high up the field and forcing mistakes out of Heanor Town.
In the 27th minute, Leo Latter made a staggering tackle in the box as it looked certain that Heanor Town would score. Latter denied the equaliser for the visitors.
Greenop almost scored again in the first half, with a low driven shot which narrowly missed the target. However, the scoreline remained 1-0 at the break.
In the 55th minute, Heanor Town equalised. Josh Bowley hit the target from just outside of the 6-yard box with a curled effort, which managed to beat the keeper.
However, Sandbach took the lead once again as Greenop got his second goal of the game. A crossed ball weaved through the Heanor Town defence and fell to Greenop, who placed his shot in the bottom corner.
With ten minutes left, Alex Seals made it 2-2 at Hind Heath Road. Seals’ powerful strike found its way into the back of the net to equalise.
Sandbach were attempting to hold on to the draw for the remainder of the game, but the Derbyshire side were eager for a winning goal.
In the 90+3rd minute, Harry Cain’s attempt on goal was denied by Heanor Town goalkeeper, Alfie Roberts.
Just one minute later, Heanor Town got their winning goal. Substitute, Mason Booth-Davies was unmarked in the box after a good ball was played in from the wing. Booth-Davies did not fail to convert his shot from close range, and sealed the cup win for the visitors.
Although Sandbach United played well during the 90 minutes, they struggled in the final 15 minutes to maintain the lead and not concede. Heanor Town pushed until the end for a winning goal, instead of settling for a penalty shootout.
Sandbach United are next up against Cheadle Heath Nomads in the Edward Case Cup 2, next Tuesday at 7:45pm.
