With winning a tight game on Saturday including Kieran Alley’s extraordinary last minute winner, Sandbach United were hoping to win again in the Cheshire Senior Cup midweek.

With Sandbach United starting off the game slow, there was good passing play from the team, not forcing any risky decisions for the first ten minutes.

The game was getting heated due to two Barnton players getting yellow cards for decent towards the referee in the space of five minutes.

Shortly after, Barnton’s keeper made a great save against Harry Cain who tried to squeeze the ball into the near post around the 6 yard box.

In the 37th minute, Joseph Bevan received a difficult pass, but controlled it beautifully, then slotted it in the bottom right corner on the volley. Following this, Sam Lynch hit the post on a difficult angle.

Coming to the end of the first 45 minutes, Joseph Bevan scored a rebound off of the cross bar which he dealt with simply chesting it in, to add to his goal tally.

With a fast start in the second half, Monty made an amazing save in the bottom hand comer to deny Barnton any idea of getting back in the game.

In the 54th minute, Joseph Bevan intercepted a poor back pass with the centre back and the goalkeeper, and has an open goal to roll it into to complete his hat-trick.

Just shortly after in the 60th minute, Joseph Bevan creates his fourth goal of the match, with a out side the box left footed shot which glided into the bottom right corner, making it incredibly hard for the Barnton keeper to get to.

Then Sam Lynch in the 62nd minute hit the crossbar from outside the box, with also causing Callum Speed to get yellow shortly after stopping the visitors counter-attacking opportunity.

The Ramblers extended their lead in the 69th minute, for Ryan Goodwin on his debut scoring a header from a corner, after an amazing ball from Kieran Alley.

Sandbach United played really well in defence even with two brand new centre half’s, in their debut getting a clean sheet and also the rest of the team displaying resilience as Barnton players were not able to do much in possession.

Sandbach United are playing Shawbury United in the league at home at 15:00 on Saturday, as the Ramblers are hoping for the three points to edge that bit closer to playoffs.
